Balekayi Ale Bajji (Plantain in yogurt sauce)






INGREDIENTS:

Balekayi (Plantain) 1
Curd 1 cup
Salt to taste


To Grind:
Coconut 1 tblsp
Green chilies 2
Cumin seeds 1tsp


Seasoning:
Mustard 1 tsp
Curry leaves few
Hing (Asafetida) a pinch


METHOD:

1) Pressure cook plantains for 3 whistles.

2) In the meantime grind the coconut mixture with little water to fine paste.

3) Peel the skin of the plantain and mash them.

4) Beat the curd and add to the mashed plantain.

5) Add the ground mixture, salt and mix well.

6) Season it with mustard hing and curry leaves.

7) Serve this with hot rice.

Never tasted pachadi with plantains.....sounds simple and good.

We make a similar dish sans the plantains called the Mosaru shaale! got to try this version as well
