Kattu Saaru


INGREDIENTS:

Toor dal - 1 cup
Tomato - 1
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds -1/2 tsp
Curry leaves - 1strand
Green chillies - 2
Ginger 1" chopped finely
Turmeric- 1/4 tsp
Hing a pinch
Oil 2 tsp
Fresh lemon juice - 2 tsp
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves to garnish





METHOD:

1)Pressure cook toor dal with tomato,turmeric and 1/2 tsp oil and more water for 3 whistles.

2)Heat remaining oil in a pan,add mustard when it pops add cumin,ginger,green chillies,hing and curry leaves.

3)Then add dal,salt and cook for another 5 mins.

4)Turn off the heat and add lemon juice and garnish with coriander leaves.Serve hot with rice and curry.
